Dear YMCA of Montclair Community,

As of February 28, at 11:59 pm, the Montclair Township Council’s mask mandate (Township Resolution R-22-13) will be rescinded. Beginning March 1, the YMCA of Montclair will follow the mask policy below at the Park Street YMCA and the Geyer Family YMCA.

Members and staff, ages 5 and up, who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to wear masks.
If you are not fully vaccinated, you are required to wear a mask when inside a YMCA facility.
We are counting on the integrity of our Y community to follow this guidance based on their vaccination status. Please respect everyone’s masking choice.

In honoring our Y core values (Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility) and respecting your fellow Y members, please remember individuals may continue to wear a mask because they are mid-vaccine, unable to be vaccinated due to medical reasons, or as an extra precaution.

Please note that our staff will continue to wear masks while working with youth under the age of 5 regardless of their vaccination status.

We follow the protocol mandated by the NJ Office of Licensing and Montclair Dept. of Health. We will continue to update our safety policy as appropriate.
